who we are
Amat-Amat is a machine knitting studio and community in Mandaluyong. We teach people to operate knitting machines, work with punch cards, and finish real garments, from a first shawl to a custom-sized sweater. The name is Hiligaynon for little by little, and that is how we work: slowly, steadily, one project at a time.
A studio built for Filipino knitters.
Machine knitting is rare in the Philippines. Most knitting spots hand you yarn and needles; we hand you a machine. Our standard-gauge and bulky machines, a linker, and a fully air-conditioned studio are here so you can practice, experiment, and produce.
We are proud to support Filipino knitters like Ate Erlinda Aguinaldo, who brings over 40 years of machine knitting experience to the studio, by bringing their own designs to market and giving their work the recognition it deserves.
